October Beauty Favourites!

Eye Products

Barry M Starry Eyed Shadow & Blush Palette
This palette includes 3 matt and 3 shimmer eye shadows and a peach blush. I've been loving creating different looks using this palette throughout October and I've loved making my eye shadow the staple part of my makeup look. This is the palette I've reached for all month when I've wanted to make a warm and smokey eye look because it has the perfect shades to do so. With the gold shimmer applied across my lid and blended out with a mix of the dark and light brown I've been able to create the perfect shimmery autumn eye make up look.
You can purchase this palette from Superdrug here or from Boots here
Price: £6.49

Bobbi Brown Cream Shadow Stick Golden Pink
This has been my absolute favourite product this month! On days where I've not had enough time of a morning to spend ages on eye makeup I've just gone straight for this. The best thing about the Bobbie Brown shadow sticks is that they can be worn on their own or they can be blended out with an eye shadow shade to create a fuller look. Its been so easy just to swipe this over my lid and then i'm good to go. The formula is super creamy so it just glides on and it lasts all day long even without a primer.
You can purchase this from the Bobbi Brown website here
Price: £20.00

Maybelline Color Tattoo 24HR Metallic Pomegranate
The last eye product I've been loving this month is the color tattoo cream eye shadow by Maybelline in the shade metallic pomegranate. It's a deep, shimmery purple colour and although it can look about scary in the pot it's easily buildable. This means you can add as many layers as you wish until you get the perfect shade for the day ahead. This is another product I've been loving on its own as well as blended out with eye shadows and it's such an easy option but makes your eye makeup look flawless.
You can purchase this from Superdrug here or from Boots here
Price: £4.99

Lip Products

Essence On The Catwalk 04 Lipstick
Essence are my current favourite drugstore makeup brand and the products I've been loving most are their long lasting lipsticks. This shade has been my go to lipstick throughout this month as not only does it stay put for hours on end its also the perfect autumnal shade. I knew I'd found a good long lasting lipstick before I'd even tried it on my lips purely because the swatches I'd done in the shop still hadn't come of a day later!
You can purchase this from Wilkinsons website here
Price: £2.30

Nivea Lip Butter Vanilla & Macadamia
I'm a sucker for anything that smells vanilla and when I rediscovered this earlier this month I knew this was going to become my new obsession. It instantly make your lips super smooth and moisturised and it leaves the smell of vanilla in the air. The only problem is that I keep licking the product away because of it! I've been using this before applying my lipsticks to help the application smoother and I've been applying it just before I go to bed so that my lips are super smooth for when I wake up.
You can purchase this from Boots here
Price: £1.83

Brushes

Real Techniques Stippling Brush
I'm a massive fan of the real techniques brushes and I own the a lot of their collection but the stippling brush is the brush that I have been loving this month! I've mainly been using this brush to apply my bronzer and blusher as I've found it gives a perfect finish. The shape is great for just applying bronzer into the hallows of the cheeks and applying blush onto the apples of my cheeks
You can purchase this brush from real techniques here or from boots here.
Price; £11.99

Autumn Drugstore Lips

Go to lip products this season:

Rimmel Kate moss lipstick 107
Kate Moss lipsticks are one of my favourtie drugstore collections and recently there's been a large amount of rave reviews about the shade 107. Surprisingly this was a shade I didn't have in my collection so I went out and purchased it because I felt like I was seriously missing out on something. After only a few times of trying out the lipstick I realised I had been missing out and big time! Its a deep wine shade which makes it a perfect lip shade for this time of year, so if you're looking for the perfect autumnal look then this is the product to go for.
Price: £5.49
You can get this from Superdrug here or from Boots here.
Essence 04 On the catwalk
You know you've got a really good and long lasting lispstick when the swatches you did in the shop still haven't come off a day later. I have been so surprised at how amazing these lipsticks actually are especially with them being so cheap, I just wish they were easier to get hold off! Even without a lipliner these lipsticks last hours with only a slight fade of colour. At the minute I'm super impressed with Essence and this is my go to lipstick for when I know I need a lipstick to last throughout the day.
Price: £2.30
You can get this from Wilko here or find out where your nearest Essence store is here
Collection Gothis Glam Seduction 1
I've heard a lot about the collection lipsticks on the blogging scene recently so I just had to go out and try one for myself. While on the hunt for the perfect autumnal lip I quickly swatched a few of the tester shades and Seduction was the one that caught my eye, but with my luck the shade was out of stock, so it was only on my second visit that I actually purchased this and even then i'd snapped up the last one! If i'm totally honest I still wasn't expecting much from the collections lipsticks but I'm actually so impressed! Once again it's the cheaper options that i'm preferring over the more expensive lips.
Price: £2.99
You can get this from Superdrug here
Soap and glory Mantrap
This shade is my go to red lipstick at this time of year, when I fancy a change from the berry undertones and the purples this is the shade I reach for. Its not your typical bright red lipstick so it still works great with Autumn looks because it's not too bright. The texture is super soft and creamy so it leaves your lips smooth and doesn't dry them up. As always Soap and Glory products smell gorgeous so I just love it when I've got this on my lips. This is the most expensive lipstick but its definitely worth it.
Price: £9.00
You can get this from Boots here
Gosh lip liner 003 csardinal red
To ensure that you get the most out of your lipsticks at this time of year lip liners are a must especially  when wearing dark lipsticks. Lining your lips beforehand ensures that the lipstick is longer lasting and stops the lipstick from bleeding out onto the lips. It also helps with being much more precise when applying the lipstick so you end up with a flawless finish. This colour works really well with most of my autumnal shades so it was the perfect buy.
Price: £4.99
You can get this from Superdrug here
Soap and glory sexy mother pucker gloss stick Raplumzel
I've been wearing the gloss sticks in two ways recently. The first way is, on days when i'm not feeling the intense lip and i'm trying to go for a more subtle look ill reach for this and apply it straight onto the lips, Its such a quick and simple look and when the colour fades it isn't noticeable because the product is light. The other way I've been wearing this is on top of my other lipsticks just to add to the look and make my lips appear moisturized and glossy. I also love the scent of Soap and Glory because they smell like vanilla which is huge bonus.
Price: £8.00
You can get this from Boot here

Amity Fest 2014

A couple of nights ago me and my best friend Abi went to Amity Fest. Amity Fest was a 3 stop tour set up by the English Youtuber bunch (and one South African in Caspar Lee) which gave viewers a chance to see some of their favourite youtubers in person. Youtubers at the event included:
Zoe Sugg of Zoella
Alfie Deyes of PointlessBlog
Marcus Butler of MarcusButlerTV
Louise of SprinkleOfGlitter
Joe Sugg of ThatcherJoe
Here are a couple of pictures I took during the night:

Q&A hosted by Caspar Lee

Hobbie Stuart performing

Most Likely To... with Zoe, Niomi, Louise and Tanya
During the event the youtubers were split into two teams, red and blue, and set a bunch of challenges to complete. Each challenge saw the teams go head to head, with the help of the audience, to find out the ultimate winner. They did a number of challenges ranging from javelin throwing to sumo wresting to building a human pyramid and the end result was a tie. Between challenges they used the event to showcase new talent, among those were Brighton's own Hobbie Stuart who is an insanely talented singer/songwriter and you can check out his Youtube channel here , Florrie who you can check out here and the dance crew Flava. The majority of the event was very well planned and we had an amazing time! If the tour comes around again, in a city near you, I would completely recommend going! It was a lot of fun and a bit crazy finally seeing these youtubers in person after spending so much time following their YouTube channels and watching them grow and Yes they are all real people!

All about that nude eyeshadow!

When I heard that Wilko's were stocking Essence in store I just couldn't resist nipping to the local to have a quick look at what they had to offer. While there I picked up the All About Nude eyeshadow palette.

With six shades ranging from matt to shimmer to metallic it's so easy to create the look that you desire and create a complete natural eye look. All the shades are super smooth which makes them really easy to blend and with an eyeshadow primer they stay put all day long. The white shade works great when used as a highlight for the brow bone and in the inner corners of the eyes. The mink and the mulberry shades both blend really well into the crease to contour and create a natural shadow. For my go to look I've been using the pink shades all over the lid, the mulberry shade throughout the crease and a mix of the mulberry and mink just in the outer corner of the lid and down onto the lash line.
I have been loving using this palette over the past week and I cant wait to return to the essence stand to make some more purchases especially with this palette only costing £3.50! In fact I already have a list forming of all the things that I want to try from essence.
You can pick up this palette from Wilkinson's online here or from the essence website here.

They also do the palette in three other shades which you can find here:

Do you know of any other cheap eyeshadow palettes that are similar to this one?

My Liebster Award Nomination!

Firstly, id just like to thank Lucy Lou for tagging me, I think that it's a great opportunity to promote small, new bloggers just like me! As I'm new to the blogging world I hadn't heard much of the Liebster Award and it came to a surprise to me when I was chosen to give it a go.
The rules are:
-Answer the questions sent to you
-Nominate 11 bloggers who have under 200 followers on twitter
-Ask them 11 question of your own
-Notify them that they have been nominated

So here are the questions lucy asked me and here are my answers:

1) What is your current favourite beauty product?
Oooo this is a difficult one to start on as there are some many beauty products that I am loving right now but the first product that came to mind was the Soap and Glory's Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss sticks.
2) Night in or Night out?
I much prefer a night in, especially in Autumn. I love nothing better then snuggling up in a blanket with a warm cup of hot chocolate and Friends on the TV.
3) Favourite Drugstore Brand?
Another hard question as I tend to buy different types of products from different brands but I've really been loving Rimmel these past few months.
4) Favourite High End Brand?
Urban Decay definitely!
5) If you could only buy your clothes from one place for the rest of your life, where would it be?
It'd have to be River Island, I love the Chelsea Girl range too much!
6) Who is your fashion idol?
Rachel Bilson
7) What made you start blogging?
My sister actually. She suggested that with my passion for makeup and fashion, I should put it all into something to make it into a hobby and so Victoria-Jane Blog was born.
8) Who is your favourite blogger and why?
Zoella, she was one of the first blogs I came across and she's were I get a lot of inspiration from.
9) Savoury or sweet?
I definitely have a sweet tooth.
10) Favourite genre of movie?
Oooo, I think i'm going to have to cheat on this one and say I like a mixture. I love watching all types of films and I really cant pick a favourite genre.
11) Favourite accessory?
I'm loving cute, vintage necklaces at the minute.

I'm going to nominate:

Here are my questions for you:
1) Who is your favourite blogger and why?
2) What is your favourite make up brand?

Drugstore Favourites: Concealers!

1.Collection Lasting Perfection
In the short life of this blog I think its understood that I am completely in love with collection's lasting perfection concealer! Not only is it my all time favourite concealer but it's the cheapest! It conceals any imperfections from breakouts to tired under eyes. What more can i say? It's just...Perfect and I cant quite find anything else that compares to it although there are a few close seconds.
Price: £4.19 Rating:5/5

2.Soap and Glory Kick Ass
Another favourite of mine is the soap and glory 3 step concealer. Each step combines to create flawless coverage for both the under eyes and redness. Step 1 is a salmon tinged concealer that works under the eye to discount the blue/dark under circles and it works perfectly for creating an awake and radiant look. Step 2 is the yellow tinged concealer and this works to cover up imperfections such as blemishes and redness and then step 3 is a powder to just set the concealer. Although this is slightly more pricey then my other two options, its a product that I love and believe its definitely worth the money.
Price: £10.00 Rating:4.5/5

3.Rimmel Wake Me Up
My third favourite is the wake me up concealer which is another product that I hear so many youtubers and bloggers rave about and I totally agree! It works really well on tackling dark under circles and my only limitation would be that it doesn't provide the best coverage for blemishes compared to my other two picks. Apart from that its a product that I recommend to everyone, especially those who are looking for a cheap but effective drugstore concealer.
Price:£5.49 Rating:4/5

Are there any concealers that you think are worthy of making my top three?

Boots Haul!

Do you know when you plan to go to your local shop and just pick up the essential bits of makeup that you need and then end up leaving the shop with a bag full of make up bits? Yep well I totally managed to do so, which means that here is a little unplanned haul:

 Collection
Okay so I can totally justify this purchase as this was one of the products I actually went in to buy. So as you know from my September favoutites I have been absolutely loving this concealer and I was coming to the end of my current tube so I went to get another and I got this in the shade fair 1.

Price: £4.19

Rimmel
Rimmel was the next stand I came to and the first product I picked up was the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder which was actually something else that I needed as I was starting to hit pan on my current one so I decided to stock up. Rimmel had the offer of spend £10 and get the 'Lash Accelerastor Endless' Mascara free. So of course I went for it as I just cant resist free gifts! So I was instantly drawn to the lip products to get up to £10 and I picked up the matte apocalips in the shade 'Meteoric' and the new provocalips product in the shade 'Dare to Pink' and I couldn't decide between the two, so I just got both. I thought the matte purple shade would be a perfect shade for the upcoming Autumn months and you just cant go wrong with a pretty pink shade for everyday use. Then when I thought I was finally done the stay blushed liquid tints caught my eye and one just happened to end up in my basket, i'd seen a lot of people talk about these and really wanted to try it out for myself.

Prices:
Apocalips: £6.49
Stay Blushed: £4.49
Provocalips: £6.99
Stay Matte Powder: £3.99
Lash Accelerator Endless Mascara usually: £7.99

Maybelline
Maybelline was my next stop and another product that id seen so much talk about was the baby skin instant pore eraser primer. so I picked this up as I'm coming to the end of the primer that I'm currently using and I felt like a change. I really hope this lives up to the hype. As maybelline products were on 3 for 2 I decided to pick up a couple baby lips. I got the shades 'strike a rose' and 'pink punch' and because I haven't heard a bad word about these I can see this ending in me buying the whole collection.

Prices:
Baby Skin Primer: £ 7.99
Baby Lips: £2,99

Barry M
I initially stopped by the Barry M stand to pick up a couple of nail varnish's for the autumn months, which I did but I also managed to pick up the limited edition shadow and blush palette as well. The two nail varnishes I picked up were:
Crush-the matte shade in deep red
Watermelon- Gelly shade in dark green
I was drawn towards the Starry eyed palette because of the shades, I don't have a palette similar to it in my current collection and it was limited edition so I just had to get it to try. With all these purchases I also got the mascara 'Showgirl' for free.

Prices:
Nail Varnish: £3.99
Starry Eyed Palette: £6.49
Showgirl Mascara is usually: £4.99

Revlon
The last stand I visited was Revlon and when they have the 3 for 2 offer on I am honestly so tempted. This time I just couldn't resist so I ended up picking up two matte balms and a lip butter.
Matte shades:
210, unapologetic which is a pretty reddy, coral shade
205, elusive which is a raspberry shade.
The Lip butter shade i picked up was 075, lollipop. I already have 3 other shades of these and I'm constantly using them so I'm sure ill love this shade too.

Prices:
Matte Balm: £7.99
Lip Butter: £7.99

I can't wait to try out all these products and i'll let you know how what I think in upcoming weeks.
